Dr. Avik Sinha

Dr. Avik Sinha is an Associate Professor in the General Management and Economics area at the Goa Institute of Management. He is also an active member of the Centre for Excellence in Sustainable Development (CESD) and Centre for Public Policy and Governance (CPPG) at Goa Institute of Management, India. He is a Fellow in Economics from the Indian Institute of Management Indore. He has published several papers in reputed journals across the world. He has been featured in the “Top 2% Scientists List” published by Stanford University. According to the IDEAS ranking of economists, he is ranked among the top global young economists. He is also ranked among the top 30 economists in India and the top 300 economists in Asia. His research interests include Energy and Environmental Economics, Sustainable Development, and Applied Econometrics. He teaches Microeconomics, Academic Writing, and Advanced Econometrics across the programs at Goa Institute of Management. He is now working in the area of policy research for attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a special focus on SDG 13, SDG 7, and SDG 8. Recently, he has started looking into the dark side of innovation, while viewing innovation as a tool responsible for tradeoffs in developmental policies. On the methodological front, he is presently working on advanced quantile modeling, decomposition-based inequality assessment, and co-movement analysis.
