Dr. Marc Fakhoury

Dr. Marc Fakhoury joined the department of Natural Sciences in the School of Arts and Sciences at LAU in 2020 as a research faculty-postdoctoral research fellow. He holds a B.S. degree in Biochemistry and a M.Eng degree in Biomedical Engineering from McGill University, Canada, and a PhD in Neuroscience from the Université de Montréal, Canada. He also has previous postdoctoral research experience at the National Institute on Drug Abuse in Baltimore, USA (2018-2019) and in the department of Anatomy, Cell Biology and Physiological Sciences of the American University of Beirut, Lebanon (2019-2020).

Dr. Fakhoury carries an excellent record of publications, with over 40 research contributions including original research articles, review papers, books and book chapters. He was the recipient of numerous prestigious awards by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and the Fonds de Recherche Santé Quebec. He currently serves on the editorial board of several journals, including Frontiers in Psychiatry, Current Psychiatry Research and Reviews, and Current Alzheimer Research. His research interests lie in the field of behavioral neuroscience, psychiatric disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases.
