What is LAU Research Day?
LAU Research Day is an annual university-wide celebration of student research at the Lebanese American University. It brings together undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines to present their original research, creative projects, and academic investigations.
The event provides a dynamic platform for students to:
Share their research with peers, faculty, and the broader academic community.
Engage in cross-disciplinary discussions and exchange ideas.
Gain recognition and valuable feedback from experts.
Enhance their academic and professional development.
From applied sciences to the humanities, students present innovative work that addresses real-world challenges, contributes to academic knowledge, and demonstrates critical thinking, creativity, and scholarly rigor.
Research Day welcomes work from fields such as:
Business
Economics
Engineering and Technology
Health Sciences
Natural Sciences
Social Sciences and Humanities
What to Expect
The day typically includes:
Oral Presentations: Graduate and advanced undergraduate students present in themed sessions, each chaired by LAU faculty.
Poster Exhibitions: Undergraduate students showcase their research through interactive posters and visual displays.
Keynote Sessions: Inspiring talks by academic or industry leaders on innovation, research impact, or societal change.
Awards Ceremony: Prizes are awarded to outstanding projects in each discipline, recognizing both oral and poster presentations.

Eligibility
- Open to:
- All currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students
- Students who graduated within the past six months
- Presentation format:
- Graduate students: Oral presentations (10–15 minutes)
- Undergraduate students: Poster presentations
Only poster presentations may be done in groups; oral presentations must be solo.
Awards
- Best presentation awards for both oral and poster sessions.
- One winner from each jury set.
- Winners will be announced during a special awards ceremony at the end of the event.
- Awardees will receive an officially signed certificate.
- Judging by a specialized jury of faculty members.
