Celebrating Excellence in Student Research at LAU

At the Lebanese American University (LAU), research is at the heart of student success. Each year, LAU proudly hosts two flagship initiatives that recognize, support, and showcase the research achievements of our undergraduate and graduate students: the Student Research Awards and LAU Research Day.

The LAU Student Research Awards program promotes a culture of academic inquiry by honoring students who demonstrate exceptional research skills, scholarly contribution, and faculty collaboration. With awards such as the Outstanding Researcher Award and the Young Researcher Award, this initiative acknowledges impactful student-authored research published in high-quality journals or presented at leading conferences. Finalists are selected through a rigorous, bibliometric-driven process and awarded within five broad academic fields.

Complementing this initiative, LAU Research Day is a vibrant, university-wide celebration of student scholarship. The event invites students from all disciplines to present their original research, creative works, and academic investigations to peers, faculty, and external experts. Through oral and poster presentations, cross-disciplinary panels, keynote talks, and an awards ceremony, students gain valuable exposure, feedback, and recognition for their contributions to knowledge and society.

Together, these programs reflect LAU’s ongoing commitment to fostering an innovative, research-engaged academic environment—one that empowers students to think critically, engage globally, and lead confidently.
